Why this, why now

The opportunity no one is talking about

  1. Situation

You manage wealth built to last generations: public equities, private credit, direct deals, alternatives. But look closely, and most of it moves to the same rhythm: U.S. market cycles, Fed rate decisions, and the dollar.

  2. Complication

Real diversification is harder to find than it looks. BDCs, private credit, REITs, and structured notes often carry the same interest-rate exposure as the public markets they’re meant to offset. Few vehicles combine emerging-market income, a defined target return, and a transparent offering structure.

  3. Question

How do you add an income stream driven by something other than the U.S. rate cycle without adding more of the risk you already hold?

Answer

InNova Global Fund

A Reg D 506(c) offering, filed with the SEC, that puts North American accredited investor capital to work in Kenya’s mobile microfinance economy through our in-market joint venture partner. Your income comes from Kenyan small businesses repaying 30-day microloans. That is a different engine from the Fed and the U.S. rate cycle.

The problem

Why Kenya’s underbanked can’t get a bank loan

About 1.3 billion adults worldwide still have no bank account. In Kenya, more than 8 in 10 workers earn a living in the informal economy: market traders, tailors, boda boda riders, produce sellers. Their businesses work. Banks still won’t lend to them.

Financial exclusion isn’t a poverty story. It’s an infrastructure story.

  • Strict collateral requirements Banks want formal property deeds or guarantors. Most Kenyans hold informal land rights that banks don’t recognize.
  • Fees and minimums that swallow the margin Monthly account fees and minimum balances often exceed a microentrepreneur’s weekly income.
  • No credit history to start from No prior borrowing means no credit score. No credit score means no bank loan. The loop never opens.
  • Branches stay in the big cities About 70% of Kenyans live in rural areas, far from the bank branches clustered in major urban centers.

M-PESA already put a payment rail in nearly every Kenyan pocket. Microfinance runs credit on that rail. That is where InNova puts your capital to work.

How capital flows

From your account to Kenya and back

Your capital leaves the U.S., becomes microloans in Kenya, and comes back as monthly interest. Here is every step.

  1. You invest through a Reg D 506(c) private placement

An independent service verifies your accredited status. You review the PPM, sign the subscription agreement, and fund your investment.

    $5,000 minimum24% stated rate at $50,000+
  2. InNova deploys the capital

87% goes directly to our Kenyan operations, our joint venture partner since 2018. 5% funds a reserve, and 8% covers operating and compliance costs.

  3. The app issues microloans

Small businesses apply by phone. No paperwork, no branch visit. Loans of $5 to $500 arrive through M-PESA within 24 hours, and 90% of them pay for inventory, equipment, and other working capital.

    $5 to $500 per loan24-hour decisions
  4. Borrowers repay in 30 days

A credit union registered under Kenya’s Cooperative Societies Act handles community underwriting. That local accountability supports a 93% on-time repayment rate on the app’s microloans.

  5. Interest comes back to you

Kenyan operations collect net interest every month. You are credited at the stated rate for your tier: 1% a month (12% a year) under $50,000, or 2% a month (24% a year) at $50,000 and up.

Who runs the lending in Kenya

Our Kenyan operations

InNova capital flows directly to our Kenyan joint venture, a strategic partner since 2018. It runs two businesses under one roof. A mobile app originates the microloans. A registered credit union underwrites them through community accountability, the structure behind a 93% on-time repayment rate. Together they serve more than 3 million microenterprises.

What you are buying exposure to

Short-cycle lending that turns over every 30 days

Your return comes from one place: interest paid by Kenyan borrowers on 30-day microloans. Because the loans are small and short, principal comes back fast and goes right back out. Four steps repeat every cycle.

Risk controls

How risk is managed

Risk control is built into the payment rails, the compliance process, and the shape of the loan book. It lowers risk. It does not remove it.

  • M-PESA railLoans go out and repayments come back on Kenya’s established mobile-money network, live since 2007.
  • AML, KYC, and anti-fraudAnti-money-laundering, know-your-customer, and fraud checks are built into every loan.
  • Local servicingOur Kenyan operations bring market knowledge and collection on the ground.
  • Diversified bookRisk is spread across millions of small loans a month instead of a few large exposures.
  • Short durationThe average loan is about $19 and is repaid in 30 days, so no single loan ties up capital for long.
  • Independent custodyA third-party custodian holds fund assets.
  • What controls cannot removeMicroloans are unsecured. Returns depend on one country and one operating partner, and shilling-to-dollar moves, Kenyan regulation, and a 13-month lock with no early redemption all add risk. Contracted rates are not guaranteed. You can lose principal.

Questions

The ones investors actually ask

M-PESA put mobile money in nearly every Kenyan pocket, and serious global capital has followed. Microsoft and G42 announced a $1 billion digital investment in Kenya in 2024. JPMorgan Chase opened a Nairobi representative office the same year. Meta is funding the Daraja subsea cable, about 4,100 km from Oman to Mombasa, with Safaricom as its Kenyan landing partner. Starlink has been live in Kenya since 2023. InNova puts your capital into that same digital economy, one microloan at a time.

Every loan runs on M-PESA, launched by Safaricom in 2007 and now used by more than 60 million customers across eight African countries. Anti-money-laundering, know-your-customer, and fraud controls are part of every transaction, and fund assets sit with an independent custodian. Safe is not the same as risk-free, though. Your capital is not insured, and you can lose principal.

Yes. Tala has disbursed more than $7 billion across its markets, and Kiva has funded more than $2 billion in loans worldwide. Branch lends in Kenya too, and venture and private equity firms have backed these companies for years. They are competitors, and they are proof of concept. InNova gives accredited investors regulated access to the same asset class, at a stated rate.

Public equities have averaged about 10% a year, investment-grade bonds about 4% to 5%, and traditional private equity about 14%. All of them move with U.S. markets and Fed decisions to some degree. InNova’s return comes from Kenyan borrowers repaying 30-day loans, not from U.S. stock prices or interest rates, with a stated 24% a year at $50,000 and up over a 13-month term. Those averages are general market figures, shown for illustration only.

Some investors do. Whether a self-directed IRA can hold this position depends on your custodian’s rules and your own tax situation, so we will not answer that for you. Ask us for the documents your custodian needs, then take them to your advisor.

No. There is no FDIC, SIPC, or equivalent coverage. Nothing in this structure is insured against borrower default, currency movement, or partner failure.

The opportunity

Regulated U.S. access to Kenya’s highest-yield market

The most compelling microfinance opportunity in the world had no regulated door for U.S. investors, so we built one. More than 1,000 investors have come through it since 2022. Start with a call or the documents. Verification comes first, and no money moves until you have read the PPM.

Accredited investors only. Verification required. Capital at risk.
